About...

The Healthy Homes Program can tell you how to protect you and your children from household dangers. Learn about:

Program Services

  • Phone consultation
  • Free Lead Testing for children 6 months – 6 years
  • In-home visits for childhood lead poisoning prevention, asthma triggers, and other household dangers for citizens with special needs
  • Mandatory lead inspections for homes with lead poisoned children
  • Free HEPA vacuum loan for lead hazard clean-up
  • Presentations to Columbus community organizations, neighborhood associations, day care centers, and school staff
  • Displays of healthy home educational information at fairs and special events
  • Referrals to services for landlords, tenants, and homeowners

Who Is The Program For?

Residents of the City of Columbus and Worthington are eligible for program services.

Free Lead Testing for children 6 months – 6 years offered at the Columbus Health Department on:

  • 2nd Thursday of every month 8am - 11am; and
  • 3rd Tuesday of every month 3pm – 7pm;
  • Other testing times may be arranged by appointment. 

Home Assessments: 8 am - 4:30 pm weekdays
