Air Quality Alert: Unhealthy for All
No alert issued currently. Air quality alerts are sometimes issued for central Ohio that is considered unhealthy for all. Ozone and/or particulate levels are high enough to be harmful to people with chronic heart and respiratory conditions, like asthma. Also for children, active adults and anyone who is outside for a prolonged period of time. During such an alert, Columbus Public Health recommends that everyone limit their activity outside during this air alert. Health effects include: throat irritation coughing rapid, shallow breathing
People who are having trouble breathing should seek medical attention. People with asthma are likely to suffer more symptoms that are more severe.
